Multitalented Entertainer Tyrese Gibson Does a press conference with Grand Central Publishing

March 31st 2011

3pm EST.

Tyrese took the time out to answer questions and give his words of wisdom…I’m sure you already know Tyrese just released a Inspirational/Memoir “How to get out of your own way” He says that writing this book “has been on my spirit for a long time.” He wanted to do something that was different and sincere. Which is truly what this book is.  In this book (and yes i have read the ENTIRE BOOK) which is hard not to do since it picks you up from the first page until the end where he thanks everybody who helped him in some way through the process.

When asked what he thought about people being put off by his motivation, saying he couldn’t relate to the problems of everyday people. He stated “Perception vs. reality because someone has a nice smile doesn’t mean they haven’t been through stuff…because someone is out partying and wilding doesn’t mean they are happy and because someone has an expensive car doesn’t mean they have gas money.”

Anybody who has Tyrese’s book and has read it know’s that in the first chapter he takes you through his childhood and for me personally when i was reading it i was speechless.  Some of the things he dealt with growing up is what i went through growing up too.  I  felt his struggle because in some way they were my struggle as well.  When i look at Tyrese today after watching him grow into a public figure and knowing what he went through to get where he is at just goes to show there is nothing that we can not do.  He know’s what growing up in the hood is like because he we there too it’s not something he wrote about because it would appeal to a group of people he wrote about it BECAUSE HE LIVED IT…

His book is apart of his reality..

He said something that stood out to me he said “Your walk is way more inspiring than your talk” That says alot and it’s very true you can talk about how you can’t find a job and how nobody wants to hire you but until you get up and hit the ground running you will be stuck in that same position.

“You have to decide on what you are going to gravitate towards because you have a choice.” -Tyrese

“If you want to invent something pay attention to what people complain about and there is your idea.”

He used for example the of the shopping carts that people kept stealing and how complaining led to the result which is what you see whenever you try to take the cart off the premises the wheels lock…complaining leads to result…

When Tyrese was asked if there was any topic that was the hardest for him to write on or was he worried about any backlash from completing the book he responded “You can’t speak and carry your story and concern yourself with backlash, that word does not exist to me.” He was right when he said that there is something in this book for everybody there really is.

This book is his THANK YOU to everybody who has supported him!!!! Writing this book is not about money for him or about adding another slash to his name he wants the information out there!!!!
